‘Tis the Season of Stress

Looking at the next few weeks and wondering how we are going to make it through the Holiday Season? Decorating, shopping, cooking and baking, entertaining, religious services plus many special holiday events. Even remembering previous holidays seems to feel like way too much stress.

Let’s think of how we want to feel this time of year. As we celebrate Light, Love, Peace and Brotherhood, how can we best achieve those feelings?

Being aware of what causes us the most stress, we can make some choices. Who do we want to connect with? People we really love and appreciate. Does it all have to include food and drink? If rich foods and drinking too much makes us feel bad, let’s not feel obligated to please others. Stress often happens when we have a resistance to something we really don’t want to do or feeling we have too much to do.

Most of all, we need to take out some stress-relief time for ourselves: taking a warm bath, walking in nature, meditating on peace, listening to soothing music, having a LIFE biofeedback session!

What really helps us is being conscious of the feeling we want to have and how we can achieve it. It really is a choice.

A friend with a large family was gathered for a lovely holiday meal that she had spent hours preparing. Everyone was so slow getting to the table. Exasperated, she re-heated the mashed potatoes three times. Then she heard everyone laughing and chatting and realized it was more important to enjoy her family even if the mashed potatoes were cold!

Stress Rates have been Soaring in the USA – and Around the World

Depression, Anxiety and Stress up by 82.6%

Employee mental health is an issue that impacts the ultimate success of every business on the planet. If you are in the profession of stress relief biofeedback, it is important for you to realize that the demand for services from biofeedback and stress relief professionals are beginning to soar in 2016.

The results of a recent analysis of three years’ worth of global Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) data paint the picture quite clearly. Employees are seeking help for more significant and more severe emotional health issues than ever before.

This recent study, released in early 2016, looked at a population of more than 100,000 employees across the United States, Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. These employees represented five different global employers, each of which had employees in at least four of the regions.

What was found is that the total number of calls and inquiries regarding emotional health issues remained relatively consistent across all three years.

However, the nature of those calls changed at an alarming rate:

  • About 4 out of every 10 cases over the three year period were related to personal emotional health issues (42 percent in 2012; 38 percent in 2013; 42 percent in 2014)
  • The number of cases dealing with employee depression increased 58 percent!
  • The number of cases dealing with employee anxiety increased an alarming 74 percent!
  • Combined, employee depression, stress and anxiety in 2012 accounted for 55.2 percent of all emotional health cases in 2012.But by 2015, this depression, stress and anxiety grew to 82.6 percent!

These numbers reflect two significant trends that impact businesses across the world. More and more employees are struggling with very serious emotional health issues like depression, stress and anxiety.

And at the same time, those struggling seem more willing to reach out for help.

Without question, instances of reported emotional health issues like depression, stress, and anxiety are on the rise.

Concurrently, the stigma of reaching out for help with these things is slowly starting to dissipate in most parts of the world. This information was originally gathered by the EAC – the global Employee Assistance Program, and was initially reported by the Huffington Post.

As these stress rates soar, businesses need to carefully consider whether they have the right support structures in place to help their employees prosper – both personally and professionally.

Electro-Smog

WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT? TRY EARTHING.

There’s no way to escape it. We sit at computers absorbing electro-smog. We talk on cell-phones, endlessly pressed to our ears and to our brains. Electro-smog is everywhere. Maybe the body, given another 100 years, will learn to adapt to it. But right now – what can you do to help out your poor, smogged up body and brain, trying to cope with it?

Think greenery. Think outside. Think earth connection. Nothing will help you to neutralize electro-smog better than Nature. But you’ve got to do more than walk through it.

Think connection. Take off those rubber-soled shoes. Connect your feet with the ground. Leaves are OK. Grass is OK. (If it’s not full of weed chemicals.) Sand at the beach shoreline is fine. Or just sit on the ground with your shoes off. The electro-smog that has built up in your body over the last few years can be neutralized as you ground yourself into the earth.

This costs nothing. The earth is readily available. But remember – no pavement. You can’t do it through asphalt or through concrete. You need to connect with the ground. And remember – take off your shoes. Rubber soles insulate you from the earth. Bare feet work fine.

Too much Electro-smog in your body? Expect difficulty going to sleep. Or waking up in the middle of the night with a non-stop brain. Leg and foot cramps are another sign. So is arm and lower back pain. Along with hot flashes. Headaches. Poor digestion.

Start connecting with the earth for 10 to 20 minutes a day. You can expect this grounding to pay big dividends. You’ll notice it after a day or two. The new word for this is EARTHING.

And don’t forget that children and pets are not immune from Electro-smog. They need Earthing too!

Stressful Side Effects of the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse that occurred last Wednesday, March 22nd threw a punch that few people were expecting. On top of a powerful period growth and transformation . . . millions of individuals nationwide have been suffering from very high stress levels due to the life shifts and changing directions that have been caused by this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse.

It is true that whatever challenges come up for you after this Eclipse . . . will ultimately help you to get in touch with your inner and outer world.

However, in the meantime be aware that you may suffer higher stress levels, depression, confusion and anxiety like never before. The changes have been causing some to have memory lapses, feelings of low self worth, frustrations that life has not been playing out according to plan.
